About ComfyPort Apparel
ComfyPort Apparel was founded in 2021, but the journey of getting there started years before that. In the times of COVID, when interacting with friends and leaving the house was at an all-time low, the creator of ComfyPort Apparel - Landi Collins - began to craft. For a while, she had been making dog bandanas for her four-legged family members, but she thought to herself: why not offer these to others? After all, sewing had become a stress reliever in what was a very stressful and anxiety-ridden time.
Landi spent hours in her craft room creating bandanas, ties, and bows for furry friends across the country. In early 2020, Landi’s Doggy Digs came to fruition. This hobby took off - with fun prints being released each season and holiday, Landi started to create a multitude of bandanas and began selling on Etsy.
In 2021, a close friend of Landi came to her with a request to use her crafting skills in another way. Her friend’s dad had just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was going to be attending chemo sessions for the foreseeable future. They had implanted a port on his right-hand side, and his family was looking for a solution to make these chemo treatments as easy as possible for him.
Landi immediately got to sewing. She searched for t-shirts that would be comfortable to wear for long periods and added a zipper so that accessing the port would be easy for the nurses. As temperatures started to drop in Colorado, Landi started altering long sleeve shirts and sweaters so that he could stay warm during his chemo treatments. Needless to say, she was a gift to this family looking for a solution.
The shirts were popular among nurses and other patients receiving treatments. Landi began to recognize the need for these shirts and wanted to provide others with comfortable t-shirts that would make accessing a port during treatment easier. In the fall of 2021, Landi started offering port shirts on Etsy, and the response was unbelievable. Since then, Landi has had the opportunity to hear the stories of customers and has found a new way to support them in their journey.
After nearly a year of selling shirts on Etsy, ComfyPort Apparel was established. The goal of providing affordable, high-quality port shirts for patients going through treatment remains the same. The hope is that you find exactly what you’re looking for to make treatment more comfortable for you or your loved ones. As always, thank you for supporting ComfyPort Apparel as Landi - an incredible one-woman show - works diligently to create and complete each of your orders.
